Dear Warriors. About this time last year a friends of mine challenged me to read a gratitude book. I'm a natural speed reader and when doing speed reading (or anything speedy or fast) I often miss so much because I'm zooming by. I really admire this friend of mine so I took her challenge to heart. I read a page a day. The book took forever to read but it forever changed my life. Gratitude became my life-line. I can use it in crisis, conflict and tension. On top of that practicing gratitude changed my health. I've always considered myself healthy but my health increased exponentially. I just felt GOOD. In the dark times, when they come, I had a life line. I could always find something to be grateful for. Then life became a little easier, a little less tense and a little more hopeful. and because of the practice of reading the book, life became a little slower. So, your challenge, how much gratitude can you express RIGHT now?
Running water, flushing toilets, heat, breathing, my body functions and I can do something as simple as walk, tea, baggers at grocery store to put groceries away, hug from a stranger, kisses, free coffee sample at trader joes, someone letting me in front of them in line...
Its actually contagious. You'll find that you won't be able to stop listing all the good in your life, even in the dark times. The sillier and obvious things - a bonus! How much can you list in 30 seconds right now? How much can you say out loud?
