Mud

Ever really wanted to do something good for you but it was too inconvenient, too much work, too messy, a hurdle, whatever - resistance of some kind.
Today, sitting in nature class with the kids , a blanket under my bum, back against a tree, sun on my face. Bliss. Homeschooling morning bliss.
Then the instructor starting talking about dirt, mud, worms, microbes. I get it - dirt is awesome. Then she said something like, "take your shoes off and really get in it..."

And when she said it - she meant the mud. "Squish it between your toes..."
Then a moment of hesitation. "Its too messy. I don't have any way of getting clean afterwards. I'm cold" But here's the thing, I wanted to do it - but why was I talking myself out of what I really wanted. Why do we do that? Talk ourselves out of what we want, need, our medicine, our joy, our mud between the toes bliss?
And it felt SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD to squish mud between my toes. To feel the muck, to get in the dirt, to welcome and play with that child in me.

I want Village to be that muddy toe messy squish for you. Its not convenient, its Saturday morning, its in a garage, its with strangers, its new, its hard....
Whatever your resistance, I hope you can push yourself a bit more. Talk to your inner child - and I promise this, it will feel so good - that mud between the toes it was SO WORTH it feeling.

9:00 Yoga with Jessica. Come ready to groove, sweat, laugh, learn
10:30 An amazing workshop following yoga. Join us as the wonderful and talented professional counselor Mahsa is going to lead a workshop on establishing boundaries, just right for the upcoming holidays. Just the word “boundaries” makes most of us cringe. That’s usually because most of us were never taught what boundaries are or how to use them effectively. The result is feeling run over, trapped, and powerless in areas of our lives. This brief workshop will help you not only to connect with yourself and establish exactly what boundaries are needed in your life, but also how to use them appropriately and effectively. You’ll feel more aware and empowered to make choices that serve you best and can help you be the best version of yourself in the world. Feel free to bring a journal, otherwise journaling paper will be provided.

Squish, squash, spat,
In gratitude for you,
Becky
