What if....
My weakness is clothes. It's hard to let you into that place in me. I didn't want to confess it. What if I'm labeled vain or shallow. Sometimes I even feel shallow, what a luxury clothes are to me in this broken world.
But it's true. I love fashion. I love the expression through clothes.
But my weakness is this. Sometimes I can over buy. Sometime I shop without intention or conscious. Sometimes it fills a void. The thing I love (clothes) ends up consuming me and I have become an unconscious consumer. And the entanglement of consumerism begins. I am owned and I Own.
But what if....
I could still have that relationship with fashion in a loving wholesome serving way, without the shame or guilt?
And what if....
I decided this is the way I will shop from now on. Second hand. There is just SO MUCH out there. I no longer want to add to the stuff out there and want to utilize the resources already here. There is an abundance. Why buy new?
And just want if...
I funded my new shopping style with items I consign. I could constantly be releasing from my closet. Things that I owned, which really owned me. What if they got a new life? What if I let go?
It feels light. It feels like ease. It feels like freedom. It feels awakened.
I know what if. I am going to do it. From now until Christmas I am going shop my closet with second hand, gifts and homemade only. I'm going to walk the streets like it's my own catwalk while spending only the earnings from releasing and consigning.
What if... I was more light. More free. Spending less. .
Sounds so crazy awesome I just gotta do it.
And just what if...
You did it with me. What would that look like??Lets do this, let's change the world.
